[In quel tempo, Ges\u00f9] entr\u00f2 nella citt\u00e0 di G\u00e8rico e la stava attraversando, quand\u2019ecco un uomo, di nome Zacch\u00e8o, capo dei pubblicani e ricco, cercava di vedere chi era Ges\u00f9, ma non gli riusciva a causa della folla, perch\u00e9 era piccolo di statura. Allora corse avanti e, per riuscire a vederlo, sal\u00ec su un sicom\u00f2ro, perch\u00e9 doveva passare di l\u00e0.
\nQuando giunse sul luogo, Ges\u00f9 alz\u00f2 lo sguardo e gli disse: \u00abZacch\u00e8o, scendi subito, perch\u00e9 oggi devo fermarmi a casa tua\u00bb. Scese in fretta e lo accolse pieno di gioia. Vedendo ci\u00f2, tutti mormoravano: \u00ab\u00c8 entrato in casa di un peccatore!\u00bb.
\nMa Zacch\u00e8o, alzatosi, disse al Signore: \u00abEcco, Signore, io do la met\u00e0 di ci\u00f2 che possiedo ai poveri e, se ho rubato a qualcuno, restituisco quattro volte tanto\u00bb.
\nGes\u00f9 gli rispose: \u00abOggi per questa casa \u00e8 venuta la salvezza, perch\u00e9 anch\u2019egli \u00e8 figlio di Abramo. Il Figlio dell\u2019uomo infatti \u00e8 venuto a cercare e a salvare ci\u00f2 che era perduto\u00bb.<\/p>\n
