[In quel tempo, Giovanni,] vedendo Ges\u00f9 venire verso di lui, disse: \u00abEcco l\u2019agnello di Dio, colui che toglie il peccato del mondo! Egli \u00e8 colui del quale ho detto: \u201cDopo di me viene un uomo che \u00e8 avanti a me, perch\u00e9 era prima di me\u201d. Io non lo conoscevo, ma sono venuto a battezzare nell\u2019acqua, perch\u00e9 egli fosse manifestato a Israele\u00bb.
\nGiovanni testimoni\u00f2 dicendo: \u00abHo contemplato lo Spirito discendere come una colomba dal cielo e rimanere su di lui. Io non lo conoscevo, ma proprio colui che mi ha inviato a battezzare nell\u2019acqua mi disse: \u201cColui sul quale vedrai discendere e rimanere lo Spirito, \u00e8 lui che battezza nello Spirito Santo\u201d. E io ho visto e ho testimoniato che questi \u00e8 il Figlio di Dio\u00bb.<\/p>\n
